Messages from Vice Chancellor

I am very happy to learn that the Alumni Association of BRAC University is going to be formally launched on 7 February, 2010. Since the University opened its doors to the new students in April, 2001, we have formally conferred around 1,800 undergraduate and postgraduate degrees on students from more than 15 countries round the world. This makes our alumni strength quite large and it is an opportune moment to formally launch the Alumni Association. This occasion not only recognizes the achievements and success of our alumni but would also help in establishing a strong brand name and position in the market.

Alumni Associations play very important roles in the development of a university. The members can contribute significantly in helping the university in improving the quality of education, in sharing their experiences with students to enable them to develop professional skills, providing internship opportunities in the organizations with which they are working and in providing financial help in developing the facilities of the university. In many of the reputed universities of North America, contributions by alumni have enabled the university in building up a significant endowment fund, which has made possible creation of new facilities, establishment of Chairs and provision of financial assistance to students in the form of scholarships.

I am proud for your achievements. I hope you will share your real life experience and guide the new students to become successful in their professional life. These will help us significantly in the fulfillment of the mission of the university, viz. creation of a centre of excellence in higher education.
